In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. Summary
The Sr Quality Manager will manages/coordinates plant wide product acceptance, and systems support activities to maintain continuous quality delivery of product needed to meet schedule requirements. Manages product acceptance operations, technical learning specialist and data science teams. Manages the development of product acceptance schedules to satisfy internal and external customer needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Institutes methods for improving quality, reducing flow/cycle time, preventing non-conformance.
- Ensures that appropriate controls and corrective measures meet applicable quality standards and that documentation is compliant with all requirements.
- Drives rigor into quality systems and business process improvements. Uses six sigma tools and initiates cross functional teams to analyze, develop, report and maintain new quality processes.
- Determines optimum product acceptance manpower based on workloads and plant performance compared to schedule requirements.
- Maintains close liaison with manufacturing support and purchased material organizations to assure achievement of quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Manages product acceptance material storage activities, facilities, and controls.
- Leads special projects, such as, Union Contract Negotiations, improving COI acceptance, improving the acceptance process, etc.
- Interacts with NWC counterparts, and helps develop and implement quality assurance programs, policies, and processes for the plant in addition to product acceptance operations.
- Reviews Performance Metrics and takes actions to improve performance.
- Develops strategic initiatives for quality and evaluates the skill/mix to support product acceptance requirements.
- Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
You Must Have
- Bachelors degree in Business or a technical field
- 9 or more years of experience in operations management related activities with a knowledge of processing, production control, and product acceptance techniques and equipment
- 2 years experience in directly managing a team
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
We Value
- Technical degree or data analytics background preferred
- Lean Black Belt certification preferred
- Experience with ERP/MRP planning system drivers and supply chain design preferred
- Thorough understanding of plant business systems necessary to identify the part of the business value chain that is affected by a particular decision or action, diagnose the situation, and prioritize what needs to be done and who needs to be involved.
- An ability to think on multiple levels plant-wide while gathering, analyzing and synthesizing data. An ability to make the complex simple and write and speak clearly and succinctly.
