Job Description
As a part of the Athletics Event Management department, the Stadium Tours Manager is responsible for the operation and sales efforts specific to Ohio Stadium Tours. The Stadium Tours Manager, will be tasked with assisting the Director of Event Services with operating the Tours division, working alongside the Ohio Stadium Facilities Operations team, Multimedia Rights and Athletic Ticketing Office to provide a first in class experience to Ohio State Fans. The Stadium Tours team provides fans, partners, businesses, and constituents of the University with the outreach and access to a unique experience that spans beyond the normal scope, ultimately providing experiences to grow involvement and revenue generation across the board while integrating fully within the department and the community. The goal is to facilitate the department’s outreach and revenue generation to maximize growth.
The Stadium Tours manager will meet and/or exceed assigned sales goals by attending events, setting appointments, working with businesses and individuals alike in the Columbus area. Research and building relationships with local and state entities is expected to expand the Tours program at Ohio Stadium. The Stadium Tours Manager will develop and execute the entirety of the sales process: prospecting, building/presenting marketing plans and end-of-year recaps. Is responsible for the schedule and timeline on a year-to-year basis as well as assisting in building the tourism budget. Assists in the planning and purchasing of tour assets.
The Stadium Tours manager works strategically to manage ticketing and event logistics for the Ohio Stadium Tour program. Responsibilities include programming events on the ticketing database and online ticket account management system, invoicing, allocation, distribution, reconciliation, reporting, and assisting customers with inquiries, purchases, and online ticket management. Manager will oversee any hospitality, and add-on experiences. Works in coordination with facilities operations, event management, athletic ticketing, marketing, parking, billing, catering, and other value-added services to deliver a memorable experience to guests. Work hand and hand with the University to provide and ensure individuals and departments are reaching their goals.
Manage one full-time seller and fulfillment team member tasked with the selling and execution of tours. Serve as an asset to the Red Coat Tour Team in the execution of tours at Ohio Stadium. Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and supervising of tour guide staff. Attend weekly event planning meetings and work on other special projects and assignments or working groups as determined by supervisor. This position will require to work nights and weekends based on the schedule of events. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged. Requires operational experience with Ticketmaster suite of ticketing-related platforms, including Archtics and TM1 (Sales, Entry, Reports, Engagement).
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse staff and customer base and the ability to manage multiple tasks and events. Position includes coverage of events on nights and weekends. Preferred candidates will have experience supervising full time staff and students.
