Staff Accountant

Denning Companies is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our team in Chancellor, South Dakota. We are an established and growing transportation and logistics company looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, stays organized, and enjoys working with others in a fast-paced business environment.

This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and work closely with management and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Enter, review, and reconcile invoices, payments, and financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Monitor outstanding customer balances and assist with collections.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Work with management and other departments to ensure accurate and timely accounting processes.
• Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience required.
• Experience using QuickBooks preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in trucking, transportation, or logistics accounting is a plus, but not required.

Schedule & Location

• Full-time position.
• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
• On-site in Chancellor, South Dakota.
• This is not a remote position.
