The Staff Accountant must be able to multitask, enjoy working in a small office environment with the ability to interact with staff (at all levels), remain flexible, be proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Job Description:

Accounts Payable

• Ensure timely and accurate processing and entry of vendor invoices.


• Request W-9s from vendors as required.


• Process weekly check runs.


• Reconcile vendor statements.

Accounts Receivable

• Prepare, review, and submit daily/weekly invoices.


• Data entry into accounts receivable system.


• Reconcile payments to pending Accounts Receivables.

General

• Collaborate with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.


• Performing other duties as assigned by the Controller.

Skills/Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in similar role or combination of related experience.


• Experience with billing highly preferred.


• Experience with Sage preferred.


• Effective problem-solving skills to identify and correct financial discrepancies.


• Strong organizational skills.


• Ability to meet deadlines.


• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills; proficiency in MS Office suite.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Detail-oriented and a can-do attitude.


• Ability to work on a team and independently.


• Self-starter with initiative to learn new skills.


• Positive work ethic.


• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with accounting department and other colleagues.

Job Type: Full-time. This is an in-office position in Warrenton, VA.

Hourly Rate: $25/hour plus benefits

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
