Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Sr Principal Engineer Aeronautical - Hydraulics Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Palmdale, CA. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.\n\nRoles and Responsibilities will include: \n\u2022 Serve as the subject matter expert for the hydraulics subsystem \n\u2022 Lead a small team that defines and champions system improvement initiatives as they become necessary, \n\u2022 Serve as an engineering representative in the supplier management team for all suppliers providing components of the subsystem, \n\u2022 Perform system analysis as needed to serve specialty engineering needs, \n\u2022 Define and document changes and revisions to the subsystem \n\u2022 Provide direct response to subsystem needs as they arise from the user, the customer, and/or program leadership. \n\u2022 Present effective technical briefs on all of the above for all levels of consumption (i.e. user, customer, program leadership, etc.). \nThe selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.\n\nBasic Qualifications \n\u2022 Staff Engineer: Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master\u2019s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience. \n\u2022 Experience working with diverse technical teams and leading others. \n\u2022 Experience working with aeronautic hydraulic systems \n\u2022 Knowledge of design, analysis and/or engineering tools development \n\u2022 Proficient with typical office toolsets such as Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite \n\u2022 Proficient at locating and examining technical data from Computer Aided Design \n\u2022 Experience using CATIA V5 to examine 3D models \n\u2022 Experience using TeamCenter Engineer and Enterprise to locate and examine technical data \n\u2022 Active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation). \n\u2022 Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Access Program (SAP) access via a Program Access Request (PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. \n\u2022 Ability to obtain and maintain subsequent SAP PARs following commencement of employment to be able to completely support statement of work.\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications \n\u2022 Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. \n\u2022 Active DoD Top Secret SCI clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation). \n\u2022 Experience working on Special Access Programs \n\u2022 Experience with hydraulic system design and analysis \n\u2022 Experience applying Siemens AMESIM, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar analysis tools to hydraulic subsystems \n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
