Job Description - Staff Engineer, Circuit Design

Req ID:\n\nJR94667 Staff Engineer, Circuit Design\n\nOur vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.\n\nMicron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.\n\nAs a Staff Design Engineer in the Non-Volatile-Engineering NAND Flash design/verification team at Micron Technology, Inc., you will contribute to the development of memory products that are outstanding in terms of die size, performance, reliability, and power!\n\nResponsibilities include, but not limited to:\n\n * Take part in multi-functional key features evaluation and recommend a decision on architecture.\n * Be able breakdown functions into circuits in the analog and/or digital domain, and design, simulate, optimize, and floor plan NAND circuits\n * Evaluate design feasibility and analyze circuit functionalities including product performance\n * Validate design performance and functionalities by running block and chip level simulations using standard industry simulators\n * Evaluate required verification coverage from design features\n * Work with multi-functional teams to evaluate and analyze NAND die performance and power consumption.\n * Proactively design and verify products to optimize all manufacturing function and provide the best cost, quality, root-cause analysis, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualification:\n\n * 7+ years on transistor level Analog and digital logic IC design experience using CMOS!\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering\n * Experience designing several of these blocks: bandgap, regulator, charge-pumps, ADC, DAC, temp sensor, power detector, comparator, active filters, oscillator, custom logic.\n * Responsible to translate system level specs onto the circuit block level performance spec, circuit architecture, design and development to meet the system level specs.\n * Must have a thorough understanding of analog design theory, loop stability analysis, device physics.\n * Proficient knowledge in memory cell read/write operations including array architecture.\n * Knowledge in CMOS device physics including reliability performance.\n * Standout colleague with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualification:\n\n * Master\u2019s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering\n * Experience with digital design flow (Verilog coding, RTL synthesis, logic simulation, place and route)\n * Proficient knowledge in memory cell test flow.\n * Layout floorplan to optimum performance, layout supervision, post layout simulations.\n * Strong Lab experience to performance IC characteristic and debugging.\n * Excellent Oral and written communication skill.\n * Basic proficiency of Perl and/or Python coding.\n * Basic proficiency of Verilog-A simulation and modeling.\n * Expertise in analog/digital simulator (HSPICE, Verilog, XA, Finesim)\n * Expertise in scripting language (Perl, Python, C++)\n * Familiarity with Cadence design, LVS/SRC tools\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nSemiconductor Design Engineer 4\n\nRelocation Level: TBD\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.
