About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Insurance Underwriter to join our underwriting team and help us achieve our goals through diligent risk assessment and exceptional customer service.

Location

This is a hybrid role in our downtown Austin,Texas office.

• Assess and analyze insurance applications to determine risk levels and appropriate coverage.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to facilitate the underwriting process.
• Review and evaluate insurance policies to ensure compliance with company standards and guidelines.
• Collaborate with other underwriters and team members to share insights and develop best practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions.
• Provide support to senior underwriters on complex cases and special projects as needed.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support underwriting decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance underwriting.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with underwriting software and tools is a plus.
• Professional designations such as AU, AINS, or equivalent are preferred.
