Staff Musician - School of Music

This is a part time, non-exempt role. The Staff Musician at Butler University's Jordan College of the Arts (JCA) within the School of Music plays a vital role in supporting the college's music programs, performances, and events.

Responsibilities 

• Perform as collaborative pianist with individual students or for classes/ensembles as assigned by the Coordinator of Collaborative Piano.
• Accompany rehearsals, lessons, and performances as required by assignments.
• Ability to flex standard working hours to support evening and weekend rehearsals, lessons, and performances as needed.
• Have music prepared in advance of collaborative session.

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Theory, Piano Performance or related field. 
• Professional performance experience on the piano. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Music, Music Theory, Piano Performance or related field.
• Proficiency in sight reading.
• Concert-level expertise on the keyboard.
