The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing the distribution of medications to patients with various physical or mental health conditions. Duties include communicating with medical providers to ensure safe medication delivery and patient counseling on complex medication issues. The Pharmacist demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring disorders and makes appropriate interventions while problem solving to ensure all operations of the pharmacy are running efficiently and following all applicable Federal and State regulations. Family & Children's Services utilizes the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model of care. As a member of a multi-disciplinary care team, you will successfully support clients by providing whole person care with this transformative model.
Clinical and Regulatory Standards
Checks prescriptions efficiently and accurately
Utilizes critical thinking in performing final checks of prescriptions to solve prescription or prevent prescription problems
Performs Drug Utilization Reviews, intervenes appropriately, and in a timely manner
Ensures compliance with all company procedures, federal and state Laws, rules and regulations.
Maintains an accurate perpetual inventory keeping track of purchased, non-purchased, controlled, non-controlled drugs
Processes all buy and bill prescriptions through Third Party Liability for claim submission
Receives controlled medication, documents, approves, and routinely sends all medication invoices to Finance
Assists technicians in resolving insurance issues
Maintains up to date knowledge on drug information
Communication
Communicates effectively with clinical staff regarding medication issues
Counsels patients appropriately and speaks on a level they can understand
Effectively de-escalates clients as necessary
Gives and receives constructive feedback appropriately
Enters appropriate notes in pharmacy software in order to expedite service
Facilitates effective communication between pharmacy and other programs
Time Management
Completes assigned work on time without continual reminders
Stays on task at assigned station and able to multi-task effectively
Finds ways to keep busy and productive when workflow is slower than normal or when there is downtime

Supervises and teaches pharmacy interns
Assists in operational decision-making, technician workflow, and leadership opportunities
Monitors daily activities to ensure that quality, production, customer service, and pharmacy regulations are maintained.
Assists in interviewing, training, and/or evaluating new employees.
