Staff Scientist

Technical Responsibilities

• Perform asbestos, lead paint, PCB, and other hazardous building materials surveys.
• Conduct mold, moisture intrusion, indoor air quality (IAQ), and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) assessments.
• Collect environmental samples including dust and bulk materials.
• Evaluate field and laboratory data to identify environmental risks and recommendations.
• Perform construction-phase environmental monitoring and abatement oversight.

Project Management Responsibilities

• Coordinate field activities with clients, contractors, laboratories, and subcontractors.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and task completion.
• Maintain project documentation and regulatory records.
• Support proposal development and scope preparation.
• Execute projects in accordance with Terracon quality standards.

Client Development Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Communicate project findings and recommendations effectively.
• Participate in client meetings and site visits.
• Identify opportunities for additional BES and Terracon services. 
• Support business development and proposal efforts.

Safety & Quality Responsibilities

• Follow Terracon safety policies, procedures, and pre-task planning requirements.
• Identify and communicate potential project safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate and complete field records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. 

• Deliver quality work products that meet project and client expectations.

• Delivers projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Produces technically sound reports and recommendations.
• Maintains strong client satisfaction and responsiveness.
• Demonstrates increasing technical expertise in BES services.
• Progresses toward project review authority and expanded project management responsibilities.
