Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nThe Engineering \u0026 Sciences organization supporting the Advanced Navigation business area at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Software Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead based out of Woodland Hills, CA.\n\nThe Software IPT Lead is responsible for planning, budgeting, executing and progress reporting for a team of software, systems, and test engineers. The primary goal is the development of software for the latest M-code capable embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System (EGI-M). The SW IPT Lead ensures the integrity of engineering processes, and timely development of software engineering work products to allow airworthiness certification. The SW IPT Lead will have Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibility, which comprises cost and schedule management for the SW work scope. The SW IPT Lead interfaces with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, System Architect, other engineering team leads, as well as the customer.\n\nThis position is contingent upon the successful completion of an active DoD Secret Clearance.\n\nWhat You\u2019ll get to Do:\n\n * Serve as a cost account manager for the software engineering responsibilities\n * Oversee the planning and execution of some software functions for the EGI-M program\n * Setup and conduct scrum-Agile ceremonies (PI planning, Sprint planning, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, PI reviews)\n * Identify and mitigate execution risks to software development on the program\n * Determine the staffing needed to develop software and work with functional managers to adjust staffing within multiple scrum teams\n * Present portion of the execution plan and progress to the customer community and senior leadership\n * Collect, manage and report the program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs)\n * Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Integration \u0026 Test Lead, program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline\n * Align measurement objectives and activities to meet program performance goals and objectives\n * Minimum 10% travel to be expected (to customer, supplier, and other Northrop Grumman locations)\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree with 12 years of experience in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Project Engineering, or related technical fields, a Master\u0027s degree with 10 years of experience, or PhD with 8 years\n * Risk and Opportunity Management experience\n * Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)\n * Experience measuring software development progress against baseline estimates\n * Experience directing software development teams\n * Experience in software development, integration, and test \n * Demonstrated exceptional communication skills\n * US Citizenship\n * Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance\n * Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Cost Account Management (CAM) certification / experience\n * Experience managing an Agile software backlog\n * Experience with Jira\n * Experience developing cost and schedule estimates for software development of DoD or Commercial Avionics\n * Experience with DO-178C Safety Critical Software development processes\n * Experience with DO-331 Model Based Software development processes\n * Knowledge of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) or Navigation equations / processing\n * Experience managing cost accounts of $10M+ annually in labor\n * Active DoD Secret Clearance\n\n\n\n#MPR\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
