Stamping Production Supervisor

Melakam Industrial LLC is hiring an experienced Press Tech Group Leader to lead stamping operations at our Ripon, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. This onsite leadership role is ideal for a manufacturing professional with expertise in metal stamping, tool and die, SMED, lean manufacturing, preventive maintenance, and production leadership. You will drive operational excellence, improve manufacturing processes, develop high-performing teams, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily stamping operations to achieve safety, quality, production, and delivery goals.
• Optimize metal stamping processes using Lean Manufacturing and SMED principles.
• Troubleshoot tooling, die, and production issues while supporting continuous process improvements.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Safety, Tool Room, and Maintenance teams to improve operational performance.
• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs for stamping equipment and tooling.
• Reduce die changeover time through standardized SMED practices.
• Monitor production metrics and implement data-driven improvement initiatives.
• Coach, mentor, and develop production team members while promoting a positive, accountable work environment.
• Support employee relations and work collaboratively with Union Stewards when applicable.
• Lead manufacturing improvement projects from planning through implementation.
• Maintain compliance with company safety standards and manufacturing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a stamping or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of tool and die principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience implementing SMED, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing manufacturing teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Flexible to support multiple shifts and weekends as operational needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a medium or high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and production performance metrics.

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods during the workday.
• Frequently bend, stoop, and perform repetitive hand movements.
• Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
