Job Summary
We are hiring a Steel CNC Equipment Technician to support production operations in a structural steel manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for operating automated fabrication machinery, producing quality parts, and maintaining a safe and efficient work area. Candidates with CNC experience in heavy manufacturing or steel fabrication are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC fabrication equipment, including beam drill lines, plasma cutting systems, and angle processing machines.
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, production schedules, and work orders.
- Load, position, and secure steel materials using overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and other material handling devices.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain production quality and accuracy.
- Inspect finished components using tape measures, calipers, framing squares, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Make minor CNC program modifications to accommodate different material sizes and thicknesses.
- Perform routine equipment checks, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean work area while following OSHA safety standards and company procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC machine operating experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop plans.
- Experience using precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Familiarity with overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
