Job Description - Stock Administrator

About Etched

Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference. Backed by hundreds of millions from top-tier investors and staffed by leading engineers, Etched is redefining the infrastructure layer for the fastest growing industry in history.

Job Summary

We're looking for a Stock Administrator who wants to own one of the most important functions at a rapidly scaling company. You'll be the driving force behind our equity programs, partnering with leaders across the business to support major company milestones while ensuring every employee has a world-class equity experience. If you're excited by ownership, complexity, and the opportunity to build systems that scale alongside an ambitious company, we'd love to talk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day administration of the company's global equity programs, including grants, exercises, vesting, releases, ESPP purchases, tender offers, and other equity transactions.

  • Maintain accurate equity records across Carta, transfer agents, and internal systems while ensuring data integrity and operational excellence.

  • Partner closely with Legal, Finance, Payroll, and People to ensure equity transactions are accurately reflected in payroll, accounting, tax reporting, and SEC filings.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including ASC 718 stock-based compensation accounting and audit requests.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable securities laws, tax regulations, SOX controls, and company equity policies.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding equity awards, vesting, taxation, and liquidity events.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, including transfer agents and equity administration providers.

  • Continuously improve equity operations by building scalable processes, automating manual workflows, and strengthening internal controls as the company grows.

You may be a good fit if you have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years of equity administration experience at a high-growth technology company, public company, or leading law firm.

  • Experience with stock options, RSUs, ESPPs, tender offers, and other equity programs.

  • Strong knowledge of ASC 718, SOX, SEC reporting, and equity taxation.

  • Experience with platforms such as Carta, Rippling, AST, Shareworks, or similar.

  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.

Strong candidates may also have experience with

  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation.

  • Experience supporting an IPO or operating at a newly public company.

  • Experience with international equity programs and cross-border compliance.

  • A track record of building scalable equity operations and automating manual processes.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision packages with generous premium coverage

    • $500 per month credit for waiving medical benefits

  • Housing subsidy of $2k per month for those living within walking distance of the office

  • Relocation support for those moving to San Jose (Santana Row)

  • Various wellness benefits covering fitness, mental health, and more

  • Daily lunch and dinner in our office

  • Unlimited compute budget subject to ROI justification

How we’re different

Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We are the first inference-focused frontier AI system, betting early on transformer and transformer-like architectures and on increasing model sizes. Our addressable market is the entirety of inference, unlike many of our competitors.

We are a fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row), and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both and work across disciplines as needed.
