Role Overview:
Provide SUD assessments, individual, support groups, education groups, crisis services and relapse prevention. Provides treatment and case management services to clients who have substance use disorders or a co-occurring disorder (mental health and chemical dependency diagnoses). Ensures a strong recovery, wellness, and hopeful environment for Substance Uses Disorder clients. Provides integrated care to meet the person’s individual needs. Assures quality treatment services are provided to clients that are in line with the program mission, goals, and objectives. Works with program managers to assure quality clinical service and contract performance through direct clinical work. Adherence to current Valley Cities Behavioral Health standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the structure of outpatient chemical dependency programing to remain in conformance with WAC’s, RCWs, and County Contracts.
- Supervise daily activities of SUDPTs and educate SUDPT’s and clinicians on best practices in working with individuals who suffer from substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders. Review SUDPT assessments and sign SUDPT group notes.
- Work with Managers to implement evidence-based COD practices.
- Perform appropriate assessments, admissions, and referrals of chemically abusing and dependent patients.
- Achieve 60% productivity (24 hours) billable services per full FTE.
- Must provide the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a Substance Use Disorder Professional.
- Be comfortable working with individuals who suffer from substance use and mental illness.
- Be comfortable working with individuals who struggle with recovery and traditional treatment.
- Ability to treat people as individuals and meet that individual where they are. Be flexible and creative.
- Facilitate IOP, OP and MRT groups, in accordance with WAC’s and RCWs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA Degree in Behavioral Sciences desired.
- Licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional for 3 years.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision of SUDPTs.
- Meet the qualifications for SUD supervisor as outlined in the WAC’s within 3 months of hire.
- Experience with clients with co-occurring disorders.
- Excellent relations with collateral contacts and community service providers.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills

- Willing to work evenings
- DASA certificate for chemical dependency counselor in the State of Washington
- Ability to gain SUD clinical supervision certification within 3 months of hire
- If recovering from alcohol/chemical dependency, the person must have been clean and sober for at least two years and be working on a personal recovery program that is verifiable and documented at the time of hire
