Pay: $12–$14 per hour plus tips

Job Description

Are you energetic, organized, and great with kids? Snapology is hiring a Summer Saturday Birthday Party Host & Activity Leader to fully host and lead children’s birthday parties during the summer season.

This is not a “stand around and supervise” role. Our party hosts create a fun, engaging, and organized birthday party experience from start to finish. You’ll welcome families, set up materials, lead a hands-on Snapology activity using LEGO® Bricks or other creative building materials, keep the party moving on schedule, and help make each child’s celebration feel special.

Snapology provides training, party guides, activity outlines, materials, and equipment — you do not need to create the activities yourself. We’ll show you how to lead our birthday party activities successfully.

The most important thing we’re looking for is someone who has experience working with children and enjoys bringing energy, fun, and excitement to kids’ activities. Our ideal party host is engaging, interactive, dependable, and comfortable connecting with children while creating a safe and positive experience for families.

Most parties take place at our Snapology of Lancaster Discovery Center, with occasional parties hosted at partner locations such as Hershey Gardens and Sweet Ride Ice Cream Shop, as well as mobile party locations throughout the area. This position is specifically for Saturday availability during the summer, with hours varying based on scheduled birthday parties. There may be potential to continue beyond the summer based on availability and business needs.

This is a great part-time opportunity for college students, teachers, childcare workers, camp counselors, parents, grandparents, caregivers, education majors, or anyone who enjoys working with children and families in a fun, upbeat environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare materials for birthday parties.


• Greet and welcome birthday families and guests.


• Fully host and lead birthday parties from start to finish.


• Conduct hands-on Snapology activities using a provided party guide, activity outline, materials, and equipment.


• Keep children engaged, excited, and on task during the activity.


• Create a fun, organized, and welcoming party environment.


• Communicate professionally with parents, caregivers, and guests.


• Keep parties moving according to the scheduled timeline.


• Promote other Snapology programs and additional party bookings when appropriate.


• Handle payments as needed.


• Assist families with gathering and loading gifts into their vehicles.


• Clean up party materials and reset the space after events.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.


• Must have a valid driver’s license.


• Must have reliable transportation.


• Must be available to work Saturdays during the summer.


• Experience working with children is strongly preferred.


• Friendly, energetic, dependable, and comfortable leading groups of children.


• Excellent communication and organizational skills.


• Ability to work with children of all ages and backgrounds.


• Previous experience with camps, classrooms, childcare, events, parties, customer service, or caregiving is a plus.


• Clear criminal and child abuse history clearances required.


• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
