Superintendent

Position Summary

Lindamood Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on demolition, renovation, and construction projects. This role coordinates field personnel, subcontractors, equipment, project sequencing, and MEP activities while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and company standards.

The ideal candidate is a proven field leader with experience in commercial construction and demolition, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and coordination.

Essential Duties & Leadership Responsibilities

• Provide daily field leadership and oversight for assigned demolition and construction projects


• Lead and coordinate Foremen, field personnel, subcontractors, equipment, materials, trucking, and jobsite activities


• Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, customer requirements, project specifications, and contract requirements


• Monitor project schedules and work closely with Project Managers to maintain milestones, productivity, and overall project performance


• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems with demolition and construction sequencing


• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, project schedules, scopes of work, and other project documentation


• Identify and resolve field issues, including MEP conflicts, before they impact safety, schedule, production, quality, or budget


• Ensure demolition and construction activities are properly sequenced with adjacent trades and building systems


• Conduct regular jobsite inspections to evaluate safety, quality, production, and progress


• Maintain accurate daily reports and communicate field progress, delays, manpower needs, equipment needs, and other concerns to project leadership


• Assist with project planning, sequencing, scheduling, inspections and project closeout


• Participate in project kick-off meetings, progress meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and owner meetings as required


• Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence


• Coach and develop field leadership while holding personnel accountable for safety, production, attendance, quality, and professionalism


• Promote effective communication between field operations, office personnel, subcontractors, inspectors, owners, and project teams


• Enforce company policies and procedures consistently on assigned projects


• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in commercial construction, demolition, heavy civil construction, excavation, site development, or a related field


• Experience in a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, or comparable senior field leadership role


• Proven experience managing construction and/or demolition projects and coordinating field operations


• Strong understanding of demolition, excavation, utilities, concrete, trucking, heavy equipment operations.


• Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems


• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, project schedules, and field documentation


• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, inspections, quality-control requirements, and jobsite safety


• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices


• Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills


• Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment


• Ability to identify conflicts between drawings, field conditions, and subcontractor work


• Ability to build strong working relationships with Project Managers, owners, subcontractors, inspectors, and field personnel


• Experience using Procore, HCSS, HeavyJob, or similar construction management software preferred


• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook


• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record


• OSHA 30 certification preferred


• CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation


• Ability to work in active demolition and construction environments, including exposure to heavy equipment, dust, noise, changing weather, and varying jobsite conditions


• Ability to walk active jobsites and uneven terrain and climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and equipment as required


• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods


• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds


• Ability to travel to assigned project sites as required


• Combination of field and office work with regular interaction with field personnel, subcontractors, Project Managers, inspectors, owners, and customers
