Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

Under direct supervision of the Senior Slot Supervisor, assists in all phases of Slot Operations on assigned shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES

• Observes and recognizes irregularities in casino personnel or customers and institute appropriate action.
• Investigates and resolves customer complaints and determines the basis of grievance up to $500.
• Completes machine paper fills as needed.
• Pays jackpots as needed and completes W-2 forms if necessary.
• Assists slot technicians as needed.
• Promotes positive customer relations, greets customers and creates a friendly atmosphere.
• Ensures that Slot Attendants work with Change Persons, Security Officers and other Apache Gold Casino staff as necessary in regards to jackpot payoffs, hopper fills, and exchange slips.
• Ensures compliance with all National, State, Local and San Carlos Apache Tribal Gaming Commission Regulations.
• Assists in the coordination of and preparation of special slot functions.
• Prepares shift reports.
• Performs other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of mechanical functions and play aspects of slot machines, procedures and Casino floor operations.
• Ability to analyze SDS reports.
• Knowledge of TITO systems and associated software systems. 
• Skill in professional management techniques.
• Ability to interact effectively with Tribal, State and National Regulatory Officials. 
• Ability to establish, administer and maintain staff training programs and records.
• Ability to efficiently schedule, and utilize manpower needs.
• Ability to write and implement departmental procedures as necessary.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routing reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions and percentages.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out directions in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Skill in human relations and supervision of assigned staff.
• Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the general public.
• Must complete the Arizona Title 4 BASIC Liquor Law Training class and obtain the Certificate of Completion within 90 days of employment. The Certificate must be updated every 3 years.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is generally performed in an office and Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED; three years experience in supervisory operations in guest services; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 21 years of age. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
