The Opportunity
In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
Documentation Services is responsible for managing the daily operations within the Quality Services department providing leadership to System and Records Management groups.
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation and supervision of the Records Management team. This group is responsible for records archival and storage.
Additionally this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation and supervision of the Systems Management team. This group is responsible for procedures, training, access and administrative support to all Business units of the Medical Device Division for PLM (Windchill) and ERP (SAP) change control systems.
What You’ll Work On
- Experience and advanced technical skills in Configuration/Change Management.
- Provide daily supervision, work direction and training to staff at multiple sites.
- Monitors, directs and prioritizes workload including assessing the need for mandatory overtime, to assure customer requests and expectations are met.
- Monitors, directs and prioritizes workload to assure department goals and objectives are met.
- Contributes to establishing departmental goals and objectives.
- Manages the department within established budget.
- Provide support to other departments as required.
- Provide department status updates to Management.
- Identify and provide solutions to improvement opportunities.
- Resolve conflicts.
- Motivate team to achieve results.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Write monthly report to communicate status of goals and objectives to Management.
- Ensure departmental compliance to procedures.
- Drives alignment across Documentation teams at all sites to ensure compliance to procedures, common interpretation and application of procedures and common understanding of tool application.
- Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback.
- Sets goals which align to department plans and manages the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring.
- Maintains a safe and professional work environment.
- Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent experience in Document/Engineering Change Control or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a Document/Engineering Change Control role, preferably in a regulated industry
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Advanced knowledge of systems (PLM, ERP)
- People supervision experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a small team of individual contributors; must have strong interpersonal skills
- Able to deliver training in classroom and one-on-one settings
- Able to troubleshoot business process and system issues within the context of the change management system
- Able to solve complex problems in a team environment which may involve multiple functions and organizational levels.
- Demonstrates strong decision-making skills
- Able to work in a geographically diverse business environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Able to work with minimal instruction/direction
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

The base pay for this position is
$61,300.00 – $122,700.00
