The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) practices the culturally responsive pedagogy approach in providing an inclusive, diverse, equitable, safe and healthy education that supports learning and success both personally and academically to the 59,000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties, an area of 5,250 square kilometres and a total of 23 schools.

Position: Supervisor of Information Technology
Reports to: Manager of Information Technology
Employee Group: Non-Union

Rate of Pay: Band 8
Work Schedule: 7 hours per day, 12 months of the year
Start Date: Permanent, effective immediately
Qualifications:
• A degree, diploma or certification in technology.
• Three years of relevant work experience in a network administration position or Windows/Linux server environment
• Linux certification would be an asset
• Email system administration an asset
• Experience with content management systems Wordpress and Google Sites an asset
• Certifications such as MCP, MCITP, CCA CompTIA Security+ considered an asset

• Self-starter, open to testing new ideas that may improve learning environment and overall performance.
• Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills.
• Confidentiality, diplomacy and tact.

• Knowledge of South Shore Regional School Board policies, processes and development that affects web development and IT implementation.
• Highly developed problem solving skills to overcome and provide solutions to a variety of IT issues that may arise in our environment.

• Strong organizational ability
Task Dimensions:
• Implements and maintains technical and computer-related information systems used by staff in the South Shore Regional Centre for Education office, and bus garages. For example:
• Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
• Other duties as assigned from time-to-time.
