Under limited supervision, the Supervisor, SLDS assists with the administration of Accessible Media services to Ohio State University students with disabilities in accordance with federal law section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). Manages the acquisition, production, and distribution of accessible course materials, including text conversions, audio description, and video captioning services; supervises a team of accessible media student staff and student managers in hiring, onboarding, training, and direction of media conversion processes; tracks and reports project status; ensures timely delivery of completed materials; coordinates provision of readers/scribes as needed for exam accommodations; analyzes data and reports departmental statistics; oversees lab assistant hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and management; assigns video captioning projects to Transcribers and student staff; responds to student and staff regarding accessible media email inquiries; demonstrates and utilizes knowledge of accessible media hardware and software systems to provide guidance and training, troubleshoot problems, and ensure that students’ needs are met; coordinates online database functions for text conversions, audio description, and video captioning services; creates staff and student employee community building and development opportunities; assists with exam services online database management workflows and processes; assists with the organization of finals week location acquisition and staff scheduling.  Provides presentations and consultation meetings to academic/institutional departments. Assists with process improvement projects as requested and performs other duties as assigned. This role will be 80% on site/in office.

Required:  Bachelor’s degree and or equivalent combination of education and experience; 3 years of relevant experience required; experience working in a  high volume and detail-oriented environment; high proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; administrative experience; customer service experience; database management experience; strong analytical and problem solving skills; effective organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Desired: 4 to 8 years relevant experience, knowledge of federal law section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disability Act (ADA); knowledge of campus and university policies and procedures and academic requirements; supervisory experience; experience in a compliance-oriented role; knowledge of the field of accessibility in higher education including adaptations and modifications that enable students to access the general education curriculum; working knowledge of JAWS and other screen reader software, OmniPage Ultimate, Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent video editing software.

Additional Information:

The targeted hiring range is $51,500 - $67,250. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the selected candidate’s qualifications.
