Job Title: Supervisor, Work Administration


 


Position Summary:


This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the accuracy, quality control, and timely completion of work management processes, including the analysis, correction, reconciliation, and closure of both engineered and non-engineered work orders. The position serves as a key liaison between Operations and Finance, ensuring compliance with accounting requirements, accurate labor and material accounting, and the integrity of financial and asset-related data. The role also provides guidance and support to field personnel throughout the work order lifecycle, including project costing, asset tracking, and as-built documentation. In addition, the position supervises and develops field asset analyst staff, driving performance, accountability, and continuous professional growth.


 


Location: Woods Run, Pittsburgh, PA


 


Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Directs and quality-controls the analysis, tracking, correction, and closing of tasks, within work management work orders, as well as the closing of work orders in their entirety (i.e. both engineered and non-engineered). Interacts with Operations and Finance management on these processes to resolve labor, material, and accounting discrepancies and ensure accuracy, by reviewing related performance reports

  • Directs and quality-controls the analysis, tracking, and correction of accelerated work orders in a timely manner prior to being locked down in work management systems for accurate accounting of time and material.

  • Provides support to the field personnel in regard to the work order initiation process, including identification of capital assets being constructed or retired, establishment of the project cost estimates, as well as provides the data and support surrounding the “as-built” process.

  • Directs and assures that the monthly closing and post-closing reconciliation process, related to material and accounting, is completed along with the completion of all data requests and the fulfillment of all reporting needs. Also directs and quality-controls the analysis, tracking, and ensuring accurate accounting of unclaimed inventory to reconcile material with management work orders.

  • Directs and quality-control the analysis aging work order report and the addressing of any items preventing the closure of individual work orders.

  • Provide accounting support associated with operating group work management systems and act as a liaison between operations and finance, to ensure FERC accounting rules and requirements are adhered to in all jobs.

  • Directs respective field asset analyst employees, as well as conducts training, development and counseling of personnel to ensure the continuing development of individual skills for maximum job performance and to prepare the individuals for greater responsibilities.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

  • Requires all personnel to follow all Company and Department procedures & regulations including all safety requirements.

  • Storm team duties as assigned

  • Other duties as assigned


 


Education and Experience Required:



  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of related experience required


 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience as a supervisor or manager

  • Electric utility operations, accounting, or finance experience

  • Understanding of regulatory accounting practices


 


Skills/Abilities:



  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills

  •  Experience with Microsoft suite, strong excel knowledge


 


Scope


Primary focus is on day-to-day management of operational execution for areas managed. Trains and develops staff. Plans the workflow. Directs available resources to accomplish process improvement.  Leads workflow changes and implementations for direct team.


 


Decision Impact


Problems and issues are undefined and require detailed info gathering, analysis, and investigation to understand/resolve.  Makes decisions that address workflow issues considering immediate impact on own function or work unit.


 


Hybrid Work


Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs. 


 


Storm Roles


All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company. Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc. 


 


Data Governance


Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
