Job Summary

Supporting patient care by insuring cleanliness of and upkeep of equipment and supplies, thus creating a safe environment for the delivery of patient care. Performs a variety of functions to prepare and maintain equipment and supplies as needed by the unit staff. Maintains par level of supplies.

Essential Functions

- Completes bedside supply stocking in the ED treatment rooms. Rotates supplies out to minimize expired products.
- Maintains, in conjunction with Distribution Services, an adequate supply of clean wheelchairs and strollers in the EDTC to meet the demand of arriving customers.
- Maintains area in a safe condition during fire emergencies or drills.
- Supports the unit environmental needs by maintaining cleanliness in the waiting room, patient care areas, treatment rooms between patients and the department in general.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Requires job knowledge acquired through a high school education or equivalent.
- Ability to follow simple, routine instructions.
- Effective verbal, written and/or interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to respond to basic customer requests with patience and enthusiasm; understand the needs of customers and escalate issues when appropriate
- Ability to frequently lift and carry, or push and pull heavy items with force of up to 30 pounds, stand and walk for 99% of the work shift.
