Support Engineer, ADAS Self-Driving

## \nCompany:\n\nQualcomm Technologies, Inc.\n\n## Job Area:\n\nEngineering Services Group, Engineering Services Group \u003e Support Engineering\n\nGeneral Summary:\n\nRole Summary:\n\nThe Qualcomm Self-Driving Team is looking for a vehicle technichian that has experience working with ADAS and self-driving technologies. The ideal candidate will be familiar with vehicle sensor retrofits, creatively implementing mounting racks, installing vehicle logging system hardware, wiring, and technical troubleshooting. This candidate must also be able to perform vehicle maintenance and will work with the engineering team on calibration and data collection tasks.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree. \nOR \nAssociate\u0027s degree and 1+ year of technical or related work experience. \nOR \nHigh School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of technical or related work experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Highschool or some college \n\n * 3+ years related lab and or field work experience. Technician/mechanic \n\n * Valid driver license with clean record \n\n * Good technical and mechanical ability \n\n * Automotive electrical understanding \n\n * Plus would be basic computer \u2013 Linux/Windows experience \n\n * Experience in customer interaction for support, demo and trial. \n\n * Advanced driver training of advantage \n\n * Electrical training and/or knowledge \n\n * Occasionally willing to travel and weekend work \n\n * Good communication skills written and spoken, team player attitude with sense of urgency, ownership and responsibility are must. \n\n * Experience in customer interaction for support, demo and trial. \n\n * Fluent in English written and spoken \n\n * Candidate should be self-driven \n\n\n\n\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n * The candidate will be working as part of the Fleet team. Supporting all autonomous vehicle related activities. Focus on understanding all the hardware system architecture and sensor integration of our test fleet.\n\n\n\n\n * Candidate should have good general mechanical understanding.\n\n\n\n\n * Help track inventory and project assets.\n\n\n\n\n * Understanding Linux PC system setup and configuration. IP network setup and management.\n\n\n\n\n * Perform diagnosis and repair of the vehicle\u2019s electrical system, simple mechanical tasks and potential software issues is a plus (with guidance)\n\n\n\n\n * Fabricate and installation and/or modify existing prototype components/fixtures \n\n\n\n\n * Install sensors, test equipment, and other components in vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test procedures\n\n\n\n\n * Good understanding and experience with various tools required in the car industry and workshop environment.\n\n\n\n\n * The candidate will need to be able to drive a car/vehicle. Driver\u2019s license should be in good standing. Support and travel for trade shows or weekend testing is expected.\n\n\n\n\n * Data collection and Demo drive support will be part of the duties which includes bring up of and basic trouble shooting of the vehicle stack.\n\n\n\n\n * Record keeping of performed tasks.\n\n\n\n\n * Communicate directly with engineers and other technicians to ensure a high level of technical support\n\n\n\n\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
