JOB DESCRIPTION

Shared Mission II is seeking experienced Surgery Registered Nurses to provide Operating Room and perioperative nursing services at Pine Ridge Indian Health Service Hospital in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.

The Surgery RN will provide direct nursing care in support of surgical services and work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide nursing care within the Surgery/Operating Room department 
• Support patients throughout the perioperative process 
• Prepare patients, equipment, supplies, and the surgical environment 
• Assist with surgical procedures within the RN scope of practice 
• Monitor patients and communicate changes in clinical condition 
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation 
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety requirements 
• Participate in scheduled surgical coverage 
• Participate in rotational on-call and callback coverage 
• Maintain compliance with IHS and facility policies and procedures 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license 
• Minimum 1 year of Surgery/Operating Room nursing experience 
• Current BLS certification 
• Current ACLS certification 
• Current PALS certification 
• Experience providing surgical and perioperative nursing care 
• Ability to participate in rotational on-call and callback coverage 
• Ability to successfully complete IHS credentialing and required background/security requirements 
• Must meet Pine Ridge Indian Health Service Hospital onboarding requirements 
• Must be available to work on-site in Pine Ridge, South Dakota
