About the Role
Our Surgery Ward Nurses are an essential part of the overnight patient care team. In this role, you’ll care for post-operative patients, ensuring their comfort and recovery throughout the night. You’ll work closely with our surgical nurses, doctors, and assistants, contributing to high-quality care while developing your technical and clinical skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor and document patient vitals and comfort levels
Administer oral and IV medications as directed by the surgical team
Assist post-operative patients with mobility and comfort care
Check catheter sites and bandages for cleanliness and security
Communicate changes in patient status to the surgical team
Maintain a clean and organized ward, including laundry and dishes
Assist with patient restraint for radiographs as needed
Schedule & Location
Schedule is as follows:
Overnight schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:30pm to 7am and Friday 11pm to 11am
Day schedule- 7a to 5p, four days per week.
Holiday rotation required
Initial training may occur during day or evening shifts

Salary range $39k/yr - $52k/yr, based on experience

What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant
Confidence in administering oral and IV medications
Ability to calculate medication dosages accurately
Strong communication and time management skills
A team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow
Physical ability to lift and restrain pets (up to 50 lbs) and be on your feet throughout the shift
