How you’ll contribute 

A SSurgical Aide who excels in this role will:

  • Provide compassionate, safe patient care under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN, supporting patient comfort, dignity, and overall well-being.
  • Support surgical room readiness and turnover by cleaning, sanitizing, restocking, and preparing rooms efficiently between procedures.
  • Assist with safe patient transportation and positioning, following established clinical procedures and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned surgical and patient-care areas while following infection prevention and hospital standards.
  • Support efficient patient flow and surgical operations by promptly completing assigned tasks and responding to changing departmental needs.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and equipment by keeping shelves stocked and delivering necessary materials to surgical and patient-care areas.
  • Accurately transport specimens, medical records, imaging, and other essential items between departments while maintaining patient privacy and safety.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, surgical staff, and other healthcare team members, using sound judgment, critical thinking, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

What we’re looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Healthcare or hospital support experience preferred, particularly as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or surgical services support staff.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, comfort, dignity, and quality care.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and infection prevention, with the ability to maintain a safe, sanitary, and orderly surgical environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with nurses, surgical staff, patients, and other departments.
  • Critical thinking, sound judgment, and adaptability, with the ability to prioritize tasks, work with minimal supervision, and remain effective in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
