Join Cedars-Sinai’s renowned Labor & Delivery team, where more than 6,700 babies are delivered each year. Our dynamic Perinatal Program offers outstanding, patient- and family-centered care for both high-risk and low-risk patients in a cooperative environment.

As a Surgical Technologist II, you will work under the direction of a licensed caregiver to support surgical procedures and help maintain a safe, efficient perioperative environment. The role requires close collaboration with registered nurses, surgeons, anesthesiologists, patients, and other members of the healthcare team

What You’ll Do

• Perform the first scrub role for a majority of surgical procedures.
• Prepare and turn over operating rooms for procedures.
• Arrange instruments and confirm equipment and supplies are available, functional, and appropriately sterilized.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
• Perform appropriate intraoperative counts of instruments, sponges, and needles and appropriately label medications.
• Establish and maintain the sterile field and support a safe, clean, and organized perioperative environment.
• Demonstrate appropriate equipment handling, troubleshooting, safety practices, and technical proficiency.
• Support inventory management, stocking, and maintenance of surgeons’ preference lists.
• Serve as a preceptor for surgical technology students and new hires and support departmental orientation.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote patient safety, efficient workflow, and high-quality care.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Vocational/Technical Diploma or qualifying training as specified in the job requirements.
• Ability to perform independently in two specialties, as required by the position.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of surgical procedure experience.

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification upon hire required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
