Here’s what you’ll be doing: 



  • Observes casino operations for irregular activity (e.g., cheating, theft) by employees or patrons, ensuring consistent adherence to policies and procedures.  



  • Provides clear verbal and written reports of violations and suspicious behavior to leadership, while also guiding team members in proper reporting standards.  



  • Maintains accurate documentation and logs of all suspicious activity and required reporting, ensuring compliance and consistency across the team.  



  • Answers and screens incoming communication (e.g., telephone, two-way radio) in a professional and supportive manner, assisting staff as needed.  



  • Supervises shift operations and staff; fosters a positive team atmosphere, ensures fair and consistent discipline when necessary, documents performance, and completes annual performance appraisals with a focus on growth and development.  



  • Trains, mentors, and supports new and existing staff on surveillance techniques, expectations, and daily operations; approves reports and consults with casino management as needed.  



  • Proactively supports onboarding efforts by ensuring new hires receive thorough training, ongoing guidance, and encouragement to build confidence and competence in their roles.  



  • Manages scheduling, payroll approval, and leave requests for all shift staff while maintaining fairness, transparency, and consideration for team well-being.  



  • Manages the proximity card re-printing process for casino employees.  



  • Promotes a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Surveillance Observations Division.  



  • Performs other duties as assigned. 



    What you’ll need to be successful: 



    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, including demonstrated ability to support, train, and guide team members.

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Forest County Potawatomi Gaming Commission.

    • Working knowledge, or ability to develop knowledge, of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, Forest County Potawatomi Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Bank Secrecy Act, National Indian Gaming Commission Internal Control Standards, Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards, and internal casino procedures.

    • Working knowledge of currency handling, including the ability to detect counterfeit documents (currency, money orders, checks, traveler’s checks, etc.), basic blackjack strategy, gaming scams, and other criminal behaviors.

    • Ability to operate surveillance equipment and effectively utilize office technology and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, computerized information systems) in support of surveillance operations.

    • Ability to remain focused while seated and monitoring CCTV for extended periods of time while maintaining strict confidentiality.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving, effective communication, comprehension, and business writing.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and support employees in a team-oriented environment.
