Position Description:
This position must resolve problems of limited scope and complexity. This position requires concentration in the field and above average strength and stamina as well as considerable walking on uneven surfaces and good balance. This position is considered a field position with an average amount of exposure to noise, dust fumes, etc., and requires frequent travel.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Conduct various types of surveying including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivisions, construction stakeouts, etc.
- Oversee the daily operation of a survey crew
- Interpret maps, plats, construction drawings and specifications
- Document work performed and sketches
- Adhere to company standards for processing and storing data
- Perform various survey calculations
- Organize and maintain survey documentation
- Operate and maintain survey equipment
- Communicate project status to Project Managers and clients
- Research project information at the Registrar of Deeds
- Prepare forms and other paperwork in a timely manner
- Attend seminars and/or training classes
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
Skills/Experience:
- Construction Staking experience required
- Valid driver’s license required
- 5+ years eperience working in construction required
- MDOT experience preferred
