Survey Party Chief

We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead and supervise a survey crew. In this role, you will oversee various surveying projects, ensuring that all work is performed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of the survey crew, as well as handling survey equipment, conducting fieldwork, and maintaining detailed records.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise survey crews for various types of surveys, including Boundary, Topographic, Construction, and ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys.

• Plan and organize survey work, ensuring that all phases of the project are completed professionally and efficiently.

• Use robotic and GPS equipment to perform fieldwork; train new staff in the operation and maintenance of equipment.

• Ensure all safety and traffic control procedures are followed at job sites.

• Perform survey calculations and review data before and after project completion.

• Communicate with the office team to provide updates on project status and resolve any issues encountered in the field.

• Maintain accurate records, sketches, and notes of work performed.

Requirements

• Experience supervising and managing a survey crew.

• Proficiency in using robotic and GPS surveying equipment.

• Strong understanding of various survey types and the ability to perform related calculations.

• Ability to train and lead a team, ensuring all work is done safely and efficiently.

• Excellent problem -solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills to liaise between the field team and office staff.
