Survey Party Chief - Chantilly, VA

Urban is currently seeking experienced Survey Party Chiefs for our Survey Department in our Chantilly, VA location.

Urban Ltd. provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area.

Responsibilities & Requirements will include:

• Manage and lead a field survey team performing boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking
• Ability to work both independently and in a leadership capacity as part of a field team
• Responsible for adjusting and operating surveying instruments and recording survey measurements and descriptive data.
• Assist in the evaluation of potential dimensions and other field problems
• Possesses a high degree of understanding of the principles and practices of surveying
• Communicates in a timely and effective manner within the team and with other disciplines working on the project
• Ability to maintain a high-performance level in a fast-paced, accountable environment
• Attention to the details while maintaining efficiency is paramount
• Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing
