SUMMARY OF POSITION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  
  Survey project schedules and forecasts. 
  
  


• 
  
  Planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects. 
  
  


• 
  
  Direct and perform land based and hydrographic (single-beam, multi-beam, and sonar imaging) surveys. 
  
  


• 
  
  On-site safety, directing, and documenting safety meetings. 
  
  


• 
  
  Adhere to quality assurance procedures. 
  
  


• 
  
  Knowledge of surveying equipment and software. 
  
  


• 
  
  Complete project administrative tasks, forms, etc. 
  
  


• 
  
  Ensure survey equipment is in good working condition and properly report any deficiencies. 
  
  


• 
  
  Operate vehicles, survey vessels, and associated support equipment. 
  
  


• 
  
  Assist with the development of survey procedures. 
  
  


• 
  
  Assist with the preparation of project scopes and estimates. 
  
  


• 
  
  Plan and execute project quality control and assurance procedures. 
  
  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  4-Year degree from an accredited college or university with a course in engineering or closely related field 
  
  


• 
  
  AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiency 
  
  


• 
  
  Certified Hydrographer 
  
  


• 
  
  10hr OSHA General Construction Course 
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY

The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field, the intern may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the required duties of this position. This position requires maintaining current industry knowledge and expertise through active involvement in professional organizations and/or other activities that may require additional and/or flexible working hours.
