Position Summary:
The SVP / Senior Market Manager serves as the senior banking leader for their assigned market (Minnesota or Montana) and is responsible for driving sustainable growth through relationship-based lending and deposits, community engagement, and customer advocacy. This role serves as the primary executor of enterprise strategy at the market level, translating direction from the Chief Banking Officer into measurable results. The SVP / Senior Market Manager leads all aspects of relationship development, market performance, and customer experience while ensuring alignment with the Bank’s mission, values, and risk culture. The role also supports strategic expansion, including identification, evaluation, and integration of acquisition opportunities.
The SVP / Senior Market Manager is responsible for leading and integrating all banking activities within their market in a manner that drives profitable growth, deepens customer relationships, strengthens community presence, and preserves the safety, soundness, and culture of the Bank.
The SVP / Senior Market Manager is successful when the market achieves consistent, profitable growth, maintains strong credit quality, develops high-performing teams, strengthens community presence, and delivers an exceptional customer experience aligned with enterprise strategy.

Market Leadership & Strategic Execution:
1. Own and execute the market-level strategy aligned with enterprise banking priorities.
2. Translate strategic objectives into clear performance expectations, sales targets, and accountability measures. Identify growth and expansion opportunities within the market, including acquisitions and new market entry initiatives.
3. Relationship Development & Growth
4. Champion a relationship-based banking model focused on trust, responsiveness, and long-term customer value.
5. Drive balanced growth across loans, deposits, and fee income.
6. Maintain direct involvement in key relationships and ensure teams execute consistent relationship management practices.
Financial Performance & Market Results:
7. Own market-level performance, including growth, profitability, and portfolio quality.
8. Monitor trends, manage performance gaps, and ensure alignment with the Bank’s financial and risk objectives.
Leadership & Talent Development:
9. Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams across lending and relationship management functions. Establish clear expectations for performance, behaviors, and accountability while building a strong leadership pipeline within the market.
10. Assign the workload of the SVP / Senior Market Manager’s direct reports, ensuring they are properly trained to perform their duties, evaluate their performance, and recommend any disciplinary action if necessary.
11. Assist the human resources department in staffing the SVP / Senior Market Manager’s department which includes, interviewing, hiring, promoting, and terminating.
12. Ensure proper coverage and staffing for all direct reports which includes reviewing and approving time off requests and timesheets.
Customer Experience & Community Engagement:
13. Serve as the face of the Bank within the local market. Strengthen community relationships and ensure delivery of a consistent, high-touch customer experience aligned with community banking values.
Risk Management & Operational Alignment:
14. Ensure disciplined execution of lending, operational, and compliance practices.
15. Partner with Credit, Operations, and Compliance teams to maintain strong risk management and regulatory adherence.
Strategic Growth & Acquisitions:
16. Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities and support due diligence activities. Lead local integration efforts to ensure customer retention, team alignment, and achievement of projected performance outcomes.
17. This position requires a valid Driver’s License.

20. Travel for trade and industry schools and seminars as needed.
21. This position may require installation of a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) app on an employee’s personal mobile device. THE MFA apps are used to authenticate a user’s identity to the system for security purposes.
22. Adhere to and comply with all applicable, federal, and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including those related to BSA/AML, as well as adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures.
23. Perform other duties as assigned and requested.

Education and Experience:
Required - High School diploma or GED, Etc.
Required – 10+ years of progressive experience in community or relationship-based banking.
Required – 5 to 10 years of progressive management and leadership experience and responsibility.
Required - Demonstrated success leading lending, sales, or market teams.
Required - Strong understanding of commercial, agricultural, and consumer banking.
Required - Continuing Education to maintain job knowledge and proficiency.
Required - Proven ability to drive growth while maintaining credit discipline and regulatory compliance.
Preferred - 5 to 10 years of customer service experience.
Preferred - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with loan documentation and boarding software.
