Job Description - Talent Acquisition

About the Opportunity

Are you a driven recruitment professional who understands the unique nuances of clinical healthcare staffing? Do you have an innate ability to connect with specialized medical professionals in a hyper-competitive market? If so, we invite you to join our high-performing Talent Acquisition team.

We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and proactive Full-Time Talent Acquisition Specialist dedicated exclusively to sourcing, attracting, and hiring clinical talent, with a core focus on Registered Nurses (RNs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and Physical Therapists (PTs). In this role, you will act as a talent advisor to clinical leadership, orchestrating end-to-end recruitment life cycles to ensure our healthcare facilities and patients receive exceptional care from the industry’s best practitioners.

Position Summary

The Senior Clinical Talent Acquisition Specialist executes full life-cycle recruiting strategies across various settings, including acute care, rehabilitation facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health services. This position demands a deep working knowledge of state licensing requirements, clinical credentials, market compensation dynamics, and niche sourcing methodologies specific to nursing and therapy disciplines.

You will serve as an ambassador of our organizational culture, articulating our employer value proposition, navigating complex compensation discussions, and building long-term talent pipelines for critical, hard-to-fill clinical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities & Detailed Duties

1. Full Life-Cycle Clinical Recruitment

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for full-time, part-time, and PRN Registered Nurses (including specialized units such as ICU, ER, Med/Surg, and OR), Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists.

  • Review and screen inbound applications, assessing clinical resumes for licensure, certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), clinical competencies, and cultural alignment.

  • Conduct thorough behavioral and competency-based phone screens to assess clinical readiness, career trajectory, and scheduling flexibility.

  • Coordinate complex interview panels involving Directors of Nursing (DON), Therapy Program Managers, and Clinical Directors, ensuring prompt candidate feedback.

  • Negotiate and extend competitive compensation packages, including sign-on bonuses, relocation assistance, and shift differentials, while aligning with internal equity standards.

2. Advanced Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Develop proactive sourcing strategies to identify passive clinical candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, specialized clinical job boards (e.g., Nurse.com, TherapyJobs), state licensing registries, and niche medical associations.

  • Execute multi-channel outbound recruitment campaigns utilizing customized email sequences, direct messaging, professional networking, and text messaging platforms.

  • Build and maintain active talent communities for RNs, OTs, and PTs to mitigate critical staffing shortages and decrease operational time-to-fill.

  • Collaborate with local universities, nursing colleges, and therapy accredited programs to establish campus recruiting pipelines and residency programs.

3. Stakeholder Management & Strategic Advisory

  • Partner with clinical hiring managers to conduct intake sessions, define job requirements, establish interview criteria, and set expectations regarding market conditions.

  • Provide continuous, data-driven updates to department heads regarding hiring funnels, candidate feedback, and recruitment challenges.

  • Analyze and communicate regional market compensation data and clinical labor supply trends to inform hiring strategies.

  • Train clinical leaders on modern interviewing techniques, regulatory compliance, and positive candidate experience practices.

4. Compliance, Onboarding, and Data Integrity

  • Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, including EEOC, ADA, Title VII, and healthcare-specific regulations.

  • Verify active, unencumbered state professional licenses and primary source verifications via relevant regulatory boards (e.g., State Board of Nursing, PT/OT Boards).

  • Collaborate closely with the Clinical Credentialing and Onboarding teams to ensure fast-tracked, compliant background checks, drug screenings, medical clearances, and reference checks.

  • Maintain accurate candidate records and pipeline data within our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), delivering regular reporting on key metrics including Time-to-Fill, Cost-per-Hire, and Quality-of-Hire.

Candidate Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (equivalent relevant experience will be considered).

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of full life-cycle talent acquisition experience, with at least 2 years explicitly focused on clinical recruiting.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and proven track record in successfully sourcing, attracting, and placing Registered Nurses (RNs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), and Physical Therapists (PTs).

  • Strong understanding of healthcare terminology, clinical certifications, and state licensing boards governing nursing and therapy disciplines.

  • Expertise using Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse, iCIMS, or Taleo) and candidate relationship management tools (CRM).

  • Advanced capability in sourcing passive talent using Boolean search strings, LinkedIn Recruiter, and healthcare-specific platforms.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clinical staff and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience recruiting within a hospital system, long-term acute care (LTACH), skilled nursing facility (SNF), or home health environment.

  • Professional certifications in Talent Acquisition or HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, RACR, or AIRS certifications).

  • Prior experience establishing university recruitment partnerships for new graduate nurse and therapy cohorts.
