Job Description - Tax Preparer

Join a firm where your tax expertise helps physicians protect what they’ve worked hard to build. We’re a boutique, client-centered practice that goes beyond basic compliance to deliver proactive planning, clear guidance, and an outstanding client experience.

We’re looking for an experienced Tax Preparer who enjoys working directly with clients, digging into details, and turning complex tax rules into practical, easy-to-understand recommendations.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and analyze client financial statements to support accurate, high-quality tax work
  • Lead new-client tax onboarding, gathering information and setting expectations for a smooth experience
  • Prepare income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts, and estates using both internal records and client-provided data
  • Organize and prepare materials for client meetings and handle follow-up tasks, questions, and action items
  • Develop tax projections for estimated payments and future liabilities, helping clients plan ahead and avoid surprises
  • Assemble responses and documentation for tax notices and support resolution efforts
  • Draft clear, organized responses to federal and state tax authorities for audits and inquiries
  • Proactively monitor client satisfaction—responding promptly, addressing concerns, and keeping engagement advisors informed
  • Manage multiple assignments at once, prioritizing effectively while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and advisors, contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment
  • Continually refine your skills and stay open to learning new tools, approaches, and tax developments

What You Bring

  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5–7 years of hands-on tax preparation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the tax code and its practical application
  • Prior bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to independently manage deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong problem-solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Clear, confident communication skills with a genuine commitment to great client service
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and during peak seasons
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to support team goals
  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply: proficiency in Hindi or Punjabi is a significant plus
