POSITION SUMMARY
The Team Member Experience Coordinator is an early-career opportunity for someone who wants to build a meaningful career in Human Resources while making a positive impact on culture. In this role, you'll work closely with leaders across the bank and gain firsthand exposure to how people, culture, leadership, and business strategy come together to support organizational success.
Working alongside experienced HR professionals, you'll help create exceptional team member experiences while developing the knowledge, skills, and business acumen needed for long-term growth in the HR field. You'll gain hands-on experience in onboarding, talent programs, employee engagement, HR technology, workforce data management, and culture-building initiatives. This role is well suited for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is organized, curious, relationship-oriented, and eager to learn how Human Resources drives success in a high-performing organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Onboarding & Team Member Experience
- Coordinate and deliver a welcoming, organized, and engaging onboarding experience for all new team members.
- Partner with hiring managers and HR team members to help new hires feel prepared, supported, and connected from day one through key moments of their team member journey.
- Coordinate and support the Southern First Summer Internship Program, creating a meaningful and engaging experience for interns while helping introduce future talent to our culture.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the onboarding and early-career experience through feedback, innovation, and continuous improvement.
HR Systems & Administration
- Maintain accurate team member data within the HRIS, including new hires, job changes, and personal information updates.
- Generate HR reports and assist with workforce data requests to support decision-making and business needs.
- Support audits, system enhancements, and process improvements while gaining insight into HR operations and compliance.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential HR records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in analyzing HR data and trends to support department initiatives and organizational goals.
Culture & Team Support
- Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable first point of contact for team member questions and HR resources.
- Support team member engagement initiatives, internal communications, and events that strengthen culture and connection across the organization.
- Assist in recognizing and supporting team members during key life events, celebrations, and moments when care matters most.
- Partner with the HR team to help create programs and experiences that reinforce Southern First's values.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance the overall team member experience.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field highly preferred.
- Internship experience or 1–2 years of experience in HR or a related administrative role preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to take ownership of projects and follow through on commitments.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfort working with systems, data, and technology; HRIS experience is a plus.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive, team-first mindset with a genuine spirit of hospitality.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
- Curiosity, coachability, and a desire to continuously learn and improve.

WORK CONDITIONS
- Role is fully in-office at the corporate headquarters in Greenville, SC (not remote and not hybrid).
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment which includes sitting, standing and working on computers for extended periods of time.
- Work may occasionally require evening work with very limited travel, if any.
