Job Description - Technical Buyer - Aerospace Manufacturing & Supplier Sourcing

Haldren is partnering with a thriving Cincinnati manufacturer in the aerospace space to identify a capable procurement specialist. The position owns the sourcing, buying, and procurement of electromechanical equipment, specialized parts, and manufactured components.

Expect a roll -up -your -sleeves, on -site role where the day revolves around finding the right suppliers, scrutinizing quotes, managing purchase orders from start to finish, holding vendors accountable on delivery, and supporting production from every angle. The successful candidate acts as the link between suppliers and internal stakeholders, making certain components arrive when promised, meet quality and customer expectations, and keep cost, delivery, and compliance objectives on track.

This should not be mistaken for routine order processing. Our client is looking for someone with hands -on experience sourcing technical and manufactured parts, building and managing supplier networks, working inside ERP systems, owning supplier KPIs, and thriving in an ISO -driven plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tackle everyday procurement problems with quick fixes, short -range planning, and coordination among all stakeholders.
  • Buy electromechanical gear, technical parts, finished components, tooling, and supporting materials.
  • Build and send out the monthly supplier KPI reports.
  • Gather supplier bids and dig into cost detail, delivery windows, quality, and capability before deciding.
  • Stick to the workflows and procedures that keep ISO certification intact.
  • Lead or join weekly delivery check -ins with the suppliers that matter most.
  • Keep production supplied by smoothing the flow of inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods.
  • Generate, log, update, and follow purchase orders through the ERP system.
  • Play an active part in commodity management, from assessing and choosing suppliers to lifting their performance over time.
  • Support supplier oversight, assessments, and audits, traveling to their facilities when required.
  • Team up with internal groups to settle nonconformities and honor customer and contract terms.
  • Own the upkeep of the Approved Supplier List.
  • Choose the proposals that offer the best balance of cost, quality, delivery, and value.
  • Pitch in on supplier training, cost -reduction drives, and improvement initiatives.
  • Handle other related tasks as they come up.



Requirements


  • Open to traveling to supplier locations throughout North America, South America, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia.
  • Free to be on -site full -time in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • Sharp negotiation, supplier communication, and quote -analysis abilities.
  • Five or more years under your belt in sourcing, purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or something closely tied to it.
  • Comfortable raising, maintaining, and chasing purchase orders inside an ERP system.
  • A firm command of sourcing and supply chain management approaches.
  • Proven success sourcing electromechanical tools, equipment, technical parts, or manufactured components.
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience handling supplier performance, follow -up, delivery snags, or improvement work.
  • Able to join forces with internal departments to fix nonconformities and meet customer or contract demands.
  • Polished enough to represent the company well during supplier visits, assessments, and audits.

Preferred

  • Comfort reading blueprints, technical drawings, geometric symbols, and GD&T conventions.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality systems.
  • A hand in supplier cost -reduction projects.
  • A degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a similar discipline is a plus.
  • Roots in aerospace, defense, aviation, industrial equipment, tooling, precision machining, fabrication, or technical manufacturing.
  • Practical knowledge of specialized production techniques, such as machining and welding intricate metal parts.
  • Time spent on supplier surveillance, assessments, or audits.
  • Past work maintaining or supporting an Approved Supplier List.
  • A suitable blend of schooling and relevant experience may stand in for a formal degree.
  • Experience putting together, sharing, or interpreting supplier KPI reports.
