Job Description - Technician

Main Responsibilities of a Garage Door Technician:

A garage door installer is responsible for the precise installation, maintenance, and repair of

residential and commercial garage doors, including the door itself, opener system, and

related components, by accurately measuring, assembling, and securing the door while

ensuring proper functionality and customer satisfaction, often requiring physical labor to

lift heavy objects and operate various hand and power tools at different job sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain residential and commercial garage doors.
  • Assemble door sections and all related hardware and assist with heavy lifting of doors and equipment.
  • Identify and diagnose issues with customers' garage doors and related systems.
  • Travel to different service calls within our designated service areas and address customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Utilize skills in framing, remodeling, and drywall for door installations (some electrical/wiring knowledge required).
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective operations.

  • Attention to detail, ensuring accurate measurements and proper installation
  • Energetic and prideful in completed work.
  • Able to frequently lift and walk carrying 50+ pounds.
  • Requires extensive standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Some overhead lifting.
  • Use of hand and power tools.
  • Basic carpentry skills: Knowledge of framing and door installation techniques.
  • Understanding how garage door systems operate and troubleshooting mechanical issues.

Education and Experience

High School diploma: (required)

Technical/College degree: (preferred)

Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Garage Door Installation: 3 years (preferred)

Driver's License (preferred)

Work schedule

  • Monday to Friday
