A growing organization is seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to provide interim support to its accounting function. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on construction accounting professional who can step in quickly, work directly with the CFO, and take ownership of key accounting responsibilities, with the potential to transition into a permanent position.
The Temporary Construction Accountant will support day-to-day accounting with a particular focus on construction-related accounting, WIP, and job costing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, researching discrepancies, and delivering accurate work within established deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day accounting functions and financial processes
- Assist with WIP (Work in Progress) accounting and job costing
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial reporting
- Use Excel to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial information
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues
- Partner directly with the CFO on accounting projects and special requests
- Communicate accounting and financial information clearly to management
- Ensure accounting deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
Qualifications
- Construction accounting experience required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes
- WIP and job costing experience strongly preferred
- Sage Construction Software experience is a significant plus
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
