Job Description - Temporary Crisis Clinician

This is a temporary position for our Mobile Response Team, starting July 2026, and ending December 2026.


The Temporary Crisis Clinician coordinates services and planning for children who are referred through social service, probation or mental health departments and are in the process of stepping down from institutional into family or family-like settings. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community in families’ homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, etc. The primary role is to ensure that all parties are working together toward stability for the child and family. Clinicians engage clients in meaningful and authentic relationships while providing a safe, predictable, and positive environment that aligns with our clients’ values and cultures.

Responsibilities



  • Serve as the clinical lead and work with the treatment team to provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed.

  • Provide counseling, therapy, and case management services to ensure the successful transition of clients and their families to other community-based resources.

  • Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and additional meetings when necessary.

  • Coordinate with necessary collateral contacts, including caregivers and family members as needed.

  • Work with treatment team to determine course of action for follow-up services.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members and providers.

  • Participate in on-call system as needed.

  • Complete progress notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated.

  • Participate in weekly supervision with the program supervisor or designee.

  • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings, weekends, and provide on-call coverage as needed.

  • Comply with all child abuse reporting and Medicaid/Medi-Cal requirements in accordance with standards set by Seneca.


Qualifications




  • Master’s degree in social work/psychology/counseling.

  • Registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences

  • At least 21 years of age.

  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.

  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.


Preferred



  • Experience working with children in out-of-home care.


Skills of an Ideal Candidate



  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Ability to work with a diverse population.

  • Good organizational and writing skills.


Schedule



  • Full-time, temporary position

  • Monday - Thursday, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM

  • Responsible for two on-call shifts per month

  • Starting at $76,491 - $90,491 per year.

    • Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications.
