Job Description

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Grounds Maintenance team! This is a temporary position on our summer grounds crew at the Home Office main campus. This position will include the following job duties:

• General grounds work including mowing, trimming, pruning, mulching, watering, and litter removal.
• Operating equipment including zero turn mowers and other landscaping equipment.
• Irrigation work including fixing and adjusting sprinkler heads, digging and replacing pipe lines, investigating and solving watering issues.
• Maintenance of fleet vehicles including washing, detailing and transporting to maintenance appointments.
• Equipment maintenance including changing oil, sharpening blades, greasing as necessary.
• Shop maintenance including general cleaning, painting, parts acquisition.

• Adequate physical endurance and mechanical ability necessary to perform the job, including repeated lifting of approximately 50 pounds

Desired Skills & Experience

• Must have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Adaptable to changing priorities.
• Communicate in a positive and effective manner.
• Satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work independently, remotely and with minimal supervision.
• Be flexible for necessary schedule changes.
• Experience with hand held tools.
