What you will have an opportunity to do:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Works with contracted personnel as well as directly implements recreational programs to include individual and team tennis activities, outdoor and special programs for guests 
  • Manage tennis activities and supplies. 
  • Checks for safety and preventive maintenance of equipment and facilities (grounds). 
  • Issues  and maintain inventory for recreational equipment and supplies 
  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of recreational programs and coordination of social events including tennis.  
  • Contact various departments to fill guests’ needs. 
  • Enter all guest information into the computer. 
  • Anticipate and handle guest issues and concerns. 
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel features/services, outlets, hours of operation, etc. 
  • Practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/company standards i.e., CPR/First Aid; react and assist in hotel emergency situations as needed. 
  • Be an ambassador of the hotel and the company at all times, in and outside of the work place. 
  • Support Quality Assurance; strive to continuously improve. 
  • Ensure by example that the Inn at Perry Cabin philosophy is known. 
  • Observe standards for the department in image, appearance, and grooming; properly represent the company and the profession to outside organizations and the community. 
  • Be knowledgeable of, implement, communicate, and comply with policies of Inn at Perry Cabin and Belmond Hotels. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all guest and general hotel information. 
  • Assist in other areas as needed. 

 

What are we looking for?

Equipment to Be Used 

 

  • Golf carts, pool furniture, chair lift, pool bar equipment, various electronics including phone and computer, cash register, printer/copier, floating devices, activities equipment, fitness equipment 

 

Physical & Mental Requirements 

 

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear; frequently  to use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms; frequently  to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment Requires normal range of hearing and vision Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc. of at least 50 pounds. 

  • Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. 

 

Work Environment 

  • Entirety of hotel— exposure to direct sunlight, high humidity, extremes of heat and cold, noise, and other conditions associated with the hotel environment.  

  • The work environment includes high guest contact and noisy, crowded environment; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, government agencies, etc.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS  

Education & Experience 

  • High school diploma or GED  some college with course work in leisure services or recreation sports preferred.   

  • Two years prior experience in customer service in a high-paced, detail-oriented position.   

  • Must be able to read, write, and type in English
