Company:

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security is looking for a broad range of Test & Evaluation Technicians to join the teams in Albuquerque, NM.

The role supports the Air Force Research Lab in their advancement of Space Domain Awareness capabilities using ground-based telescopes. Starfire Optical Range is a world class research facility with recognized achievements in adaptive optics, enabled by the quality, enthusiasm, and dedication of our entire team. Our team consists of engineers and technicians in all disciplines required to plan, design, integrate, and test complex optical, electronic, laser systems to achieve research objectives.

Our teams are currently hiring a broad range of experience levels including mid-level, lead, or senior technicians across various disciplines within Test & Evaluation. Positions will focus on Lasers/Optics/Mechanical and will vary within:

  • Optical Systems Computing Equipment

  • Electrical/Electronic Equipment

  • Mechanical Equipment

  • Metrology & Calibration

  • Observatory Equipment Operation

  • Test Operation

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans, conducts and documents tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.

  • Designs, fabricates, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies.

  • Provides technical support for project management, including test plans or proposals, cost and schedule estimates, and instrumentation and test condition definitions.

  • Guides test mechanics and electricians, and performs metrology and calibration certification services.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test-related problems.

  • Conducts tests per plan and processes data; documents and communicates test plans and results.

  • Interfaces with engineers, peers, group leaders, internal and external suppliers, and laboratory users for direction, collaboration, approval, and identifying requirements to resolve design, manufacturing, and related process problems. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering technician, construction or facilities maintenance disciplines

  • 5+ years of experience working with powered hand tools or equipment

  • Willing and able to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Lead, Level 4: 8+ years of related work experience

  • Senior, Level 5: 11+ years of related work experience

  • Active Top Secret/SCI

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced, Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

Lead, Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior, Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+7 years' related work experience, 11 years' related work experience, etc.)

Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3)  $63,750 - $86,250

Summary pay range for Lead (Level 4): $75,650 - $102,350  

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 5): $90,100 - $121,900
