POSITION SUMMARY

Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home of SWLA is seeking an empathetic, passionate, and caring PLPC, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or LCSW to provide therapeutic treatment on site to clients ages 12-17 years of age.  Clients have an average stay of 3-6 months, during which the therapist provides individual, family, and group therapy based on treatment plans written by the therapist in collaboration with the client and their guardians.  While therapists can have a caseload of up to 8 youth, decisions are made using a treatment team, which is made up of multidisciplinary professionals, who collaborate to provide the best care possible for our clients.  When you work for Methodist, you change lives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure each resident on his or her caseload receives a minimum of two individual therapy sessions each week (a minimum weekly total of 120 minutes).


2. Ensure each resident on his or her caseload receives a minimum of two group therapy sessions per week.


3. Responsible for evaluating residents; formulating and updating written individualized Master Plans of Care; providing active treatment measures; and engaging in discharge planning.


4. Be able to appropriately advocate for resident's needs to appropriate persons or organizations as necessary.


5. Ensure the provision of compassionate, culturally sensitive services.


6. Engage and involve guardians whenever possible in treatment planning.


7. Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment team to ensure best care of resident.


8. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional (PLPC, LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LMSW)


2. Must possess a strong sense of personal authority, maturity and integrity for agency-wide leadership role.


3. Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings.


4. Must be skilled in conflict resolution and mediation.


5. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to promote staff unity, staff morale and cooperative relationships among various agency departments.


6. Must use good social skills with residents, their family members and fellow staff members.


7. Must protect the confidentiality of residents, their family members and all Protected Health Information (PHI).


8. Must have a strong work ethic.

EMPLOYMENT PROVISIONS

Time on Duty:            Monday through Friday 8-5

Salary:                         Starts at $50,000

Benefits:                     As stated in Personnel Policies and Procedures and determined by the Board of Directors.
