Due to continued growth and new business opportunities, we are expanding our Thread Rolling Department and seeking a skilled Threading Operator / Thread Roller to join our team.

The Position

The Threading Operator is responsible for setting up and operating thread rolling, cold heading, and secondary machinery to produce high-quality, close-tolerance aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Waterbury and Reed thread rolling equipment, as well as cold heading and secondary machinery.
  
• Install and adjust tooling according to work orders and specifications.
  
• Set machine parameters, including feed rate, pressure, and speed, based on material and job requirements.
  
• Work with materials including Inconel, A-286, and stainless steels.
  
• Manually feed part blanks into machinery and make adjustments as needed.
  
• Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, work orders, and other technical instructions.
  
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure consistent quality and dimensional accuracy.
  
• Use standard inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, Johnson thread gauges, and other precision gauges.
  
• Document production and inspection results.
  
• Communicate with supervisors, engineers, Quality Control, and other shop personnel to resolve machining and quality issues.
  
• Troubleshoot equipment and identify causes of inconsistent thread quality.
  
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and notify supervisors when tooling replacement or repairs are required.
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  
• Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
  

About You

• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience; 5+ years preferred.
  
• Must have experience setting up and operating thread rolling equipment.
  
• Experience with thread rolling machinery, including setup and tooling adjustments.
  
• Experience using standard gauges and inspection techniques, including quality documentation.
  
• Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications.
  
• Manufacturing experience with aerospace threaded components or other close-tolerance parts is a plus.
  
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  
• Safety-conscious and dependable.
  
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  
• Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs. or less.

While previous thread rolling setup and operating experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, a solid work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow.
