Talent Pool Note: We are not actively hiring for this role right now. We keep this posting open so strong creatives can introduce themselves and we can reach out when our content volume grows.
WeScale Media is the in-house content engine behind WeScale, the company teaching everyday entrepreneurs how to build real, branded Print-on-Demand businesses on Shopify.
Our mission is to become the most-watched, most-trusted brand in the Print-on-Demand and online business space.
We produce high-performance long-form video, short-form social, and podcast content that reaches people deciding whether to bet on themselves. Our content is not vanity media. It is designed to drive measurable reach, deepen trust, and create downstream business impact across the entire WeScale ecosystem.
We operate like a studio, not a startup content team. That means structured workflows, batch production, clear performance metrics, and an aggressive commitment to innovation, especially through AI-native production systems.
We are building a repeatable content machine that compounds: more output, higher quality, faster iteration, stronger monetization, and deeper brand equity over time.
If you are joining WeScale Media, you are not here to just make content. You are here to help build a media powerhouse.
The Thumbnail & Motion Designer owns two things that decide whether our content lands: the thumbnails that earn the click and the motion graphics that make every video feel like WeScale. This role covers both founders, Meg and Chris, across long-form and short-form.
This role owns:
High-CTR YouTube thumbnails for every long-form video, concepted and executed
All motion graphics across both brands: kinetic typography, branded transitions, lower-thirds, animated title treatments, episodic opens and closes, bumpers
The motion design system and animation templates that keep the look consistent and the output fast
A consistent, recognizable visual and motion identity across both founders and both brands
A tested, data-backed thumbnail system that keeps improving
The thumbnail is the ad for the video. If it does not earn the click, the best content in the world never gets seen. Once they click, motion is what makes it feel premium and keeps them watching.
This role reports directly to the Head of Content.
YouTube Thumbnails
Design high-CTR thumbnails for every long-form video across both channels
Concept and execute, from idea to finished file, not just production work
Build thumbnails around faces, emotion, contrast, and a single clear hook
Match the thumbnail to the title so the package works as one unit
Motion Graphics & Video
Design and animate kinetic typography, branded transitions, lower-thirds, and animated title treatments
Build episodic opens and closes, bumpers, and on-screen graphics for long-form and short-form
Deliver motion assets that drop cleanly into editor timelines, with a tidy After Effects to Premiere handoff
Produce platform-native motion assets sized and cut for each social channel
Brand & Motion Design System
Build and maintain animation templates and design templates that speed up production without flattening quality
Maintain a consistent visual and motion identity across both founders and both brands
Document standards so the look and feel stay recognizable as volume scales
Testing & Iteration
A/B test thumbnails and read the CTR data, not just personal taste
Use performance data to improve every next design
Study what wins across the channel and the broader space, and steal smart
Speed, Systems & Asset Management
Turn thumbnails and motion around fast so packaging and graphics never hold up a publish
Keep an organized, tagged asset library with version control so nothing gets lost or reworked twice
Use AI motion and design tools to increase output and explore more, faster
4+ years in design and/or motion design for content, media, or YouTube
Expert in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop, strong in Premiere Pro and Illustrator
A portfolio showing both high-CTR thumbnails and strong motion craft: kinetic typography, lower-thirds, transitions
You understand YouTube packaging and the title-thumbnail relationship
A deep grasp of animation principles: timing, easing, hierarchy
After Effects expressions and scripting are a plus
Systems-oriented. You build templates, not one-offs
AI-forward with motion and design tools such as Runway, Firefly, or equivalent
Fast turnaround under real publish deadlines without dropping quality
High-CTR thumbnails that lift click-through on every video
A consistent, recognizable visual and motion identity across both channels
Motion assets that drop into editor timelines with minimal revision
Packaging and graphics that never delay a publish
A tested, data-backed thumbnail system that keeps improving
AI embedded in the workflow to compound output over time
Our core values are the heart and soul of this company. The right person for this role will appreciate each of these values, personally subscribe to them, and understand why each is critical to building a great business.
Own the Outcome: Take full responsibility for the result, not just the task. You do not wait for permission or hand off problems. You own the goal end to end and make it happen.
Set the Standard: Be the bar everyone else measures against. Good enough is not the standard. You raise the quality of everything you touch and everyone around you.
Radical Candor: Have the courage to say the hard truth and the humility to hear it. Nothing great gets built without honest feedback, given directly and received openly.
Fiduciary Mindset: Act as though you are legally obligated to do what is best for the customer. Every decision serves the people who trust us with their business.
