TIG Welder / Metal Fabrication Specialist (Aluminum & Stainless)
Location: Hanover, PA
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–3:00 PM
Occasional Saturdays required; overtime as needed
Pay: Starting at $24/hour (higher based on experience)
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder / Fabrication Specialist to build and assemble aluminum, stainless steel, and other metal components. This position focuses on precision welding, layout, and fabrication of handrails and custom metal products in a fast-paced shop environment.
Primary Duties
- Lay out, cut, fit, and weld handrails and miscellaneous metal components based on drawings and specifications
- Perform TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel, producing clean and structurally sound welds
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions for accurate fabrication
- Set up and operate equipment such as saws, notchers, grinders, and various hand tools
- Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, and measuring devices prior to welding
- Move and position materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead lifting equipment
- Maintain production pace while meeting quality and safety expectations
Required Experience & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience TIG welding aluminum and stainless steel in a fabrication setting
- Ability to read blueprints and perform precise layout using tape measures and hand tools
- Working knowledge of shop math, including fractions and basic geometry
- Experience troubleshooting fit-up, layout, and welding issues independently
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and metalworking equipment
- Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines and changing priorities
