Tire Service Technician - Road & Bridge

• Repairs and maintains tires and tire equipment for department vehicles.
• Maintains available inventory of all service center vehicles and equipment; tires, tubes, and wheels.
• Makes road calls to install tires on department vehicles, as needed.
• Inspects tools and equipment used in tire repair and requests replacement equipments as needed.
• Cleans, inspects, restores, and reassembles rims and rings to safe working condition.
• Balances tire and wheel after assembly.
• Coordinates with  the Fleet Manager regarding upcoming equipment usage.
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED. Knowledge of tire sensors and placement, knowledge of tractors, high water vehicles and Emergency Vehicles.
• 2 years job related experience; thorough knowledge of tire and wheel maintenance.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions;  Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize own work.
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $18.31 - $22.89 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
