Summary:
The Tissue Recovery Technician I role is responsible for performing tissue recovery and leading a recovery team in recovery of post-mortem tissues as determined by the authorization, as well as, organizational and processor needs, to ensure safe human grafts for transplantation. Responsible for using aseptic technique to assist and/or to perform the recovery of post-mortem human tissue including bone, connective tissue, skin, heart for heart valves, and/or veins to ensure safe grafts for transplantation. Tissue recovered may be for the purpose of transplant, research, and education.

Physical Environment / Working Conditions:
Performs tissue recoveries in hospital morgues, hospital operating rooms, coroner offices, autopsy suites, and funeral homes/mortuaries. Perform office duties in a normal office environment. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Travel in light and commercial aircraft, or automobile is required in order to meet all the duties and responsibilities of the position. Is required to use his/her private auto for job related ground transportation.
